The returning Lurker gives the Zerg a new siege and harassment option in StarCraft 2, as well as new defensive abilities. Zerg Ravagers are anti-Protoss units that can break through force fields with a corrosive bile attack, but Blizzard says the attack requires some amount of player skill to actually pull off. Legacy of the Void will see the addition of a handful of new and returning units, including the Zerg's Ravager and Lurker, the Terran's HERC and Cyclone and the Protoss' Disruptor.
Legacy of the Void is not an expansion, Blizzard said today, but a stand-alone product. While the single-player campaign trailer featured in the video above may require some knowledge of what happened in the previous two games, Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm, those who want to play Legacy of the Void don't need to actually own the original StarCraft 2 or its first expansion. Blizzard revealed new details for the third chapter in the StarCraft 2 trilogy, the Protoss-focused Legacy of the Void, at BlizzCon today, including a new trailer that sets up the game's concluding episode.
